Do you need help choosing a type of plastic for your project?

Acetal (Delrin)

The gold standard for precision parts. Acetal is prized for its excellent machinability, high stiffness, and low moisture absorption. It is the ideal choice for gears, bearings, and complex components that require tight tolerances and dimensional stability.

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)

A versatile and lightweight workhorse. HDPE is highly resistant to chemicals, moisture, and impact. Because it is food-safe and easy to clean, it is commonly used for custom cutting boards, cabinetry, and marine-grade components.

Nylon (6 & 66)

Built for the tough jobs. Nylon offers incredible tensile strength and superior abrasion resistance. It is the go-to material for wear-intensive applications like rollers, bushings, and mechanical spacers where durability under friction is key.

PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)

For environments where failure isn’t an option. PEEK is a high-performance thermoplastic with exceptional thermal stability and mechanical strength. It thrives in demanding aerospace, medical, and chemical processing applications.

Polypropylene

A durable and flexible solution for everyday utility. Known for its fatigue resistance and lightweight profile, Polypropylene is excellent for living hinges, chemical tanks, and various consumer goods that require a balance of toughness and versatility.

PTFE (Teflon)

The ultimate non-stick material. PTFE provides exceptional chemical inertness and the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material. It is perfect for gaskets, seals, and high-temperature insulators where “slickness” is a requirement.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

Strong, rigid, and cost-effective. PVC is a staple in industrial fabrication due to its excellent flame rating and resistance to acids. It is highly versatile for electrical housing, signage, and structural plumbing components.

NUHMWPE (1000)

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene is the king of wear resistance. With incredible impact strength and self-lubricating properties, UHMW is virtually indestructible. It’s the top choice for wear strips, conveyor guides, and heavy-duty industrial liners.

Acrylic

The premier choice for visual clarity. Often used as a lightweight, shatter-resistant alternative to glass, Acrylic machines beautifully to a high-gloss finish. It is highly UV-resistant and available in a vast array of colors and transparencies, making it perfect for premium signage, point-of-sale displays, and artistic installations.

Polycarbonate (Lexan)

Virtually unbreakable. Polycarbonate offers the transparency of glass with 250 times the impact resistance. It is significantly tougher than Acrylic and can withstand higher temperatures, making it the preferred material for machine guards, high-security glazing, and rugged transparent covers that need to survive high-stress environments.
